THESE ARE IN CONNECTICUT:
Hole In The Wall (Beach): This is one of those beaches that only the locals know about.... so even during tourist season, there is very few people on it. As you enter the beach, you will notice a long boardwalk to the left. It connects to TWO OTHER BEACHES. To the right is a small park, with a jungle gym for children, and another beach called McCook's. TRIPADVISOR
Mystic Aquarium: A good quality aquarium. Many different creatures that only the luckiest people get to see in the wild.... with extensive easy to understand information about each one. If you are interested in such things, you can spend HOURS without realizing it. TRIPADVISOR
Ocean Beach Park: A very good beach with a boardwalk. There is a pool for the people who are afraid of the ocean, and rides for the kids. My favorite part is at the opposite side of the parking lot, there is a walking path.... at the end of it is another beach in front of a small river. It moves slowly, so children can catch various small crabs, clams, muscles, and fish. TRIPADVISOR
Rocky Neck State Park (Beach): A nice clean beach with many relaxing walkways, and even small grills allowing families to cook meals on the beach. TRIPADVISOR
Skippers Seafood is a good restaurant that is open even in the off season. They sell mostly seafood, but also burgers and fries and such. Therapy food for after a relaxing day at the beach. TRIPADVISOR
Dad's Seafood is also a good place right down the street from Skipper's. This place has a smaller menu, but FAR LARGER portions (avoid the onion rings). Be prepared to bring the second half home and put it in your oven/air fryer. TRIPADVISOR
