RECOMMENDED HARDWARE:

This is a portable hard drive by SEAGATE.

It has been my experience that this company makes durable, high quality drives for a reasonable price.

I use one for the many classic games I play to relax. another for my music/video collection, and more importantly one for backing up files.

NORTON (see the SECURITY tab) automatically backs up your computers files, so if your system gives you the middle finger at some point, you don't loose your photos and paperwork.

These drives are much slower that the equipment built into your computer, but you can plug it in to use it, then put it on a shelf for safe keeping when not in use... and it is powered only by one USB port in your computer.
