SOFTWARE I USE IN MY CAR

Many years ago I had the opportunity to talk to a person that investigated insurance fraud. When I got home I began looking for DASH CAM apps for my phone.

IMPORTANT: One thing you will need to go with the software is a WINDSHIELD MOUNT.

Daily Roads Voyager (Android); This program takes a while to set up, but once that is done, all it takes is starting the car engine for it to run! It displays your current speed, and GPS fix incase you have a problem when driving. There is a PRO version without adverts.

Dash Cam (Let's Explore) (iPhone): This is a good DASH CAM app for the iPhone. The iPhone OS doesn't allow apps to work together like ANDROID does, so this one also gets the APPLE MAPS to run along with it.

I know VERY little about fixing my vehicle.

I have been fortunate to find someone honest who fixes my car for a fair price... but it also helps to know that the car is about to flip you the bird.,. and what is making it angry.

OBDLink MX+ OBD2 Bluetooth Scanner will talk to your car's computer, then tell your smart phone what the computer is saying in simple terms even I can understand.

Any car built after the early 2000's will work with this thing (newer cars will have more information). The hardest part is sticking your head behind your dashboard looking for the diagnostic port!

Unlike other similar OBD2 Scanners, this one comes with their own software, their WINDOWS version is called OBDWiz. You aren't stuck with the company's program, as it will work with almost ALL the other OBD2 software in your phone's app store.

Sygic GPS Navigation has a AWESOME navigation program. Sure smart phones have navigation software included, but as soon as you don't get cell phone service, then the software gives you the finger.

THIS system has the map ON YOUR PHONE, so you can still navigate even without cell service.

In addition to MANY other options, you can also customize almost EVERYTHING. I have changed mine to make the GPS act sarcastic. This consistently gets a laugh when someone is in the car with me.
